Fall Pictures

I've always wanted to take pictures of my boys at this old cabin behind the house in Fremont. On this last trip I finally did. Tyler gave me the hardest time. He said, "Mom you said you were going to take a picture not fifty". Brayden was probably the easiest. He kept posing and doing everything just perfect. Rylee wasn't too bad I just had to make it like a game and Kaleb was good he kept hearing flies and thinking they were bees. He did not like to be anywhere near them. I took enough that hopefully I would get some good ones. I think I was able to accomplish that. I had a lot of fun and hope my boys did too!

DEER HUNTING

Not only was it UEA this weekend but it was also the start of the deer hunt. Joe got up early Saturday morning and took Tyler and Brayden with him hunting. They got back around noon with no luck. They had seen some bucks but they were to far to take a shot. Then Joe, Rylee and I decided to go for a 4-wheeler ride. We didn't find anything either. Rylee did fall asleep on the ride so I had to really hang on to him. By the time we were done my arms and legs ached. In the meantime Joe went to look for his cousin, who was also hunting. Good thing he found him because he had got a deer and Joe helped him bring it down along with 2 of his kids. Once evening came all the deer we could find were in fields or yards. They say deer aren't smart but I would beg to differ after seeing them all taunting him saying you can't get us. We decided to take the Durango and look one last time. We hadn't gotten very far when he spotted a buck on the mountain and decided to take a shot. Joe, Brayden and cousin Brittnee went to find the deer while I went to take the car back and bring the wheeler. To make a long story short he got a 3 point which ended the day off pretty good.

Baby Aspen

This is a picture of my niece's baby, Aspen. They came down to help with the windows and spend time with family. She is such a happy baby. She is so adorable and we would like to thank Mandy and Josh for sharing her this weekend.

UEA WEEKEND

For UEA we decided to go down to Fremont. Joe's family has a house down there that we like to go and stay as long as we can. It was the house his Dad grew up in so it needs a little updating. Over UEA they decided they were going to install new windows in the whole house. There was a total of 19 windows I think. It was a lot of work but, we also got to spend time with family and have a great time.

LITTLE CHEF

The other day I was making muffins and Rylee wanted to help. I found his little apron and chef hat and he was ready to go. It was a lot of fun to watch him as we made a mess.

Stake Recognition Awards

Tuesday night was Stake Recognition for our ward. Tyler didn't act as if he wanted to go but, we knew something he didn't. He was getting an award. There are three different categories and only 1 scout from each ward is chosen. So a total of 3 scouts for our ward received awards and Tyler was one of those. When they called his name he was not paying attention as usual and didn't even hear them call his name. All his friends that were sitting around him started pushing him up there. He still doesn't know which award he received. I wish I would have had it on camera. It really surprised him. I was very excited for him to receive the award. They gave each of the boys a coin that has the boy scout motto on one side and the saying "You can make a difference" on the other. It is supposed to help them remember what they have done and continue doing good. He was nominated by a very sweet letter telling of his accomplishments on the 50 mile hike and sleeping outdoors under the stars on the Klondike with 2 other fellow boy scouts. I am so proud of him. Way to go Tyler!

CLOSE CALL

This is how my monday went: My boys got home from school and they all wanted my attention as usual. After getting them all doing their homework I went to the basement to finish painting a shelf I was working on. A little while later I came upstairs and asked Tyler if he had seen Rylee.
When he told me he had not I asked him to go look for him. He told me he searched every nook and cranny and could not find him. Then I looked and could not find him. I immediately went to the garage to see if his bike was missing. Guess what it was. Rylee just recently started riding his big boy bike. He would spend every moment of the day on it if I would let him. He will not even touch his trike anymore because it is for babies. So, on with my story. I had Tyler and Kaleb hop on their bikes and search the neighborhood. After searching for awhile I went to my neighbors to make sure he did not go to their house. He was not their but my neighbor went searching the neighborhood with me. I got back to my house with no sight of him or his bike. Then when I was ready to get in my car and go search what do you know, he comes riding his bike around the corner. Of course he had no helmet or shoes. After he returned home I noticed his little foot was all scraped up. I am not sure where he did this. I'm glad to have him back and that he is safe for the most part. His bike has been put on time-out for a very LONG time. Now I need to start putting more lock on my doors like I did when Brayden was little.

LoAdEd WeEkEnD

Our weekend started out at my parents to have breakfast with the family. My parents are home for a few weeks from their mission to return their trailer and get some winter items. Then they head off again for another year.
It will be sad for my kids this year around the holidays. Both of their grandparent's are serving missions and will not be around.
Saturday we watched conference with most of my family. We used Bingo to keep the kids occupied so we could actually listen for awhile. After that we ventured home to get a few things done around the house. Sunday morning we tried Bingo again but it did not work very well.

Joe's sister and her family joined us for the afternoon session on Sunday. Here is a picture of what my kids did to keep themselves busy during the last session. It is really hard to get any kids to sit for that long. Some of the adults even had a hard time. They were all really good sports during the attack.

Finally we headed back up north for my sister's baby (Shaylee) blessing. On the way home the sun was shining through the clouds. It was amazing to see. This picture does not do it justice. It makes me apprciate the beauty that we have all around us.

FuN DaY

The kids had the day off of school so my sister convinced me to go play with them. First we went to the Bean Museum. The kids all loved seeing all the different animals. They kept asking us if they were real. We told them they were real but they are also dead so they did not have anything to worry about. Next we went out to eat at Olive Garden. I'm sure when the two of us walked in with 7 kids they all thought we were crazy. Who could blame them we also thought we might be a little crazy. Then off to the Dinosaur Museum. We all loved to see how big they were. It's amazing to think that these creatures actually roamed the earth at one point. I'm glad I was not around to see it. Then we went to the aquarium in the bottom of one of BYU's buildings. I forgot the actual name of the building. We had to ask where it was because we were not quite sure. The kids got a nice tour of campus. Finally we went to BYU's science building and the kids got to learn about magnets, lasers, hurricane, weather and many more. After that my sister and I decided we had to get home. I don't know about the kids but I had had it and was more than ready to go home. It was a fun day and a lot better than staying home cleaning house.

BENEFIT AUCTION

For anyone that is interested Joe has a cousin that is in need of a liver transplant. His insurance company will not perform the surgery, even if one comes available, until he has $50,000 in the bank. I don't know about you but I would not have that kind of money just lying round. They are doing a benefit for him on Saturday October 4th, 2008 at the Beaver County Fairgrounds. The Muddy Boots Band will be performing, there will be dinner, dancing and a live auction. Some of the auction items include: compound bow, makita laser slide and table saw, handmade quilts and more. I have made a few items for the auction and I will post a picture. If anyone is interested in attending let me knoiw and I can give you more information.

WARNING

WARNING this post may contain questionable substance. For those of you that are squeamish or faint of heart stop reading this here. For those of you adventurous folks I will tell you the story. The other day while I was getting dressed in my room Rylee happen to walk in and see me putting on my bra. That is when he asked me if that is what I used to cover my bumps. I don't know if I ever answered him because I was laughing too hard. He is going to hate me when he is older and I share this story.

Ever since school started Rylee has been very bored. I just don't understand why he could be bored he has me all day for himself. He has gotten in some much mischief and he refuses to take naps. On rare occasions if I can get him to sit still for an extended period of time he just passes out. It does not matter when or where. He is so peaceful while he is sleeping. What can I say I love this little guy.

Since I haven't been blogging a lot lately I have kept myself busy doing other things. One of my projects was to find a place for the guitars from guitar hero and rock band. I saw a show where they made a stand for them. This is what mine ended up looking like. I am so glad to get them out of the way!

CrAzY HaiR DaY

My boys school had crazy hair day. Kaleb wanted me to help him with his hair. Once I got started it took me awhile to get his hair all spiked because it is so long. When I finally got it to stay up he got upset because he thought it looked like a mohawk. His principal had told them they could not have mohawks. I had to start all over and find something to do with his hair that he thought was acceptable. After seeing all his brothers have cRaZy hair Rylee had to have his done. We can thank Brayden for helping Rylee.

CAMPING

JOLLY'S RANCH

We went camping over Labor day weekend up to Jolly's Ranch. The boys loved the water and it was hard to keep them out of it. There was an added bonus to the water called dirt and when you mix the two of them together you guessed it you get mud. Of course that attracts boys even more. They also found, captured and named a water snake. The last night we were there a big storm moved in and it rained heavy all night. On the radio we kept hearing about flash flood warnings. We hoped we would still be in the same spot the next morning. When we got up the next morning we hadn't moved but the river had. We packed up and left awaiting our next adventure.

DAVIS RANCH

We are fortunate enough to live in a place where we can drive 5 minutes and be in the mountains. This is one of those places that is hidden from plain sight. It belongs to a friend of mine and she was kind enough to invite my family for Family Home Evening. My boys love this place. You can swim, fish, canoe, swing, play in the tree house & too many more to list. We had a blast. The sunset was amazing so I had to get a picture to show everyone.

I know it has been awhile since I have last posted. I thought once school started life would be less hectic. Boy was I wrong. I know know what a chicken must feel like when it gets his head cut off. This last week has been very crazy. It all started last weekend with going camping then, off to a Labor Day party with family. My parents also came home from their mission for a couple of days. Monday was my niece's birthday, Tuesday was my little sister's birthday, Wednesday George went to the vet's to be declawed and neutered, Wednesday was also scouts, Thursday I had to pick George up from the vet's. All this plus homework x 3, school fees to be paid & forms to fill out every night. I think we probably could have started our own forest by now. Today is my first day with nothing and I am so excited to just stay home. Rylee has been very bored without his brothers home and finds all sorts of mischief for me to find and clean up. Next week looks good so far. I just hope it stays that way. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

SUMMER of the MONKEYS

Who said monkeys don't live in Utah. I think these pictures prove otherwise. I could not keep them out of the trees. I'm just glad nobody fell out of them or had any accidents. This summer has actually been an accident free one. I better not say that too loud or maybe I should knock on wood. Whatever I'm just glad we have all been healthy for the most part.
